CINCINNATI Dec. 21, 2009 Chiquita Fresh North America announced the conclusion of a successful and innovative consumer sweepstakes as part of its comprehensive and integrated fall marketing campaign. The Tropical Getaway Sweepstakes was promoted through an in-store retail campaign, a new consumer web site: ChiquitaBananas.com and a limited-time promotional sticker on each cluster of Chiquita Bananas.
As part of our overall banana marketing campaign, Chiquita utilized an innovative consumer sweepstakes linked to our new web site ChiquitaBananas.com to help drive awareness of the health benefits of our premium bananas, as well as generate excitement and fun around our retailers banana displays, said Craig Stephen, vice president and general manager, North America bananas. This promotion successfully linked in-store displays, unique point-of-sale materials and a limited-time yellow promotional sticker on the bananas to engage consumers on multiple levels while directing them to our new web site.
The sweepstakes was designed to enhance consumer perception of Chiquita Bananas as a fun food, reinforce Chiquita as the preferred brand and to drive traffic to Chiquita Banana displays. The new web site, ChiquitaBananas.com and its companion web site EatAChiquta.com, are part of a key strategy for ongoing consumer interaction. Each of the sites target different demographics, making interaction with the brand on the Internet a rewarding experience for consumers of all ages. Both bring the brand personality to life with vibrant graphics and high-energy content, creating connectivity through different elements.
