Celebration Of Life Mass Set In Remembrance Of Keystone Fruit Marketing Chairman And President, Kurt J. Schweitzer

Kurt Schweitzer, 62, went home to heaven February 17, 2016.  He will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife of 40 years, his children and grandchildren, and large extended family.  He will always be remembered as a man of God who passionately loved his family.  He was a leader and visionary in business and generous with his time and talent.  Kurt’s contagious smile was ever present.  Whether you knew him for 30 minutes or 30 years, he had the ability to connect and make you feel special.  Kurt always knew that the shortest distance between two people is sharing a laugh.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Kurt succeeded Bob Evans as Keystone’s Chairman and President in 2008. Kurt joined Keystone in 1979 and has been a critical force in its success. Kurt’s strategic leadership and vision has helped Keystone grow and prosper. Part of Kurt’s contribution is the talented and dedicated staff that makes Keystone one of the leading providers of sweet onions, asparagus, apples, peaches and other fresh produce. Kurt’s leadership is evident in the strategic grower partnerships that make Keystone a strong provider to its customers. Under Kurt’s leadership, Keystone has built strong operations, staffed by very capable people. Their goal is to honor Kurt by continuing to provide impeccable service to our customers and growers. Kurt’s charge to all was "…don’t survive, thrive!" We go forward with his spirit. Further communications will follow. Arrangements to honor Kurt are in process. Martin D. Kamer, Vice President will be acting President until further notice.

On Saturday, March 12, 2016, a Celebration of Life mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 1:00 pm.
