Supporting healthy lifestyles and giving back are continued commitments at California Giant Berry Farms. They want you to know that purchasing their berries makes a difference – and that's something to care about.
At this time of year giving back is especially important to employees and owners of California Giant Berry Farms as they focus on giving back during the Holidays to families in need right here in the Pajaro Valley. The company conducts several fundraisers during October and November enabling them to adopt local families for Christmas and this year that giving has expanded to sponsoring Court Appointed Special Advocates. The children served by CASA are in the foster care system because they have been abused or neglected. A judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to speak up for the child’s best interests in court, at school and in the community, and to serve as a caring, guiding presence until a safe and permanent home can be found.
Each December CASA hosts a Gingerbread Party for the children CASA serves. The children decorate home-baked gingerbread cookies with heaps of festive frosting and sprinkles, and there are a variety of other fun activities to help the children celebrate the spirit that goes with Christmas giving. Sadly, many have never celebrated a holiday or received a gift. This year, California Giant Berry Farms will sponsor CASA’s Gingerbread Party, providing all of the supplies, decorations, crafts, food and beverages for the children to enjoy. There is no better way to share the spirit of giving than to provide an experience like this for children who need to know that someone cares. There are many ways to support CASA’s work to bring a brighter and more hopeful future to children here in the Pajaro Valley. If you would like to learn more or support CASA through your own charitable giving, start by visiting casaofsantacruz.org. The event this year will be held on December 8, 2010.
California Giant Berry Farms is also a proud sponsor of the 24th annual KSBW Share Your Holiday event for this first time this year. The Watsonville cooler will be an official drop off location for this exiting holiday drive on December 10th, 2010. KSBW’s Share Your Holiday collects funds and other donations for the Salvation Army to help those in need. Please show your support by bringing canned and dry foods, new toys, gift cards, or cash to 335 Industrial Road, Watsonville CA on December 10th.
Now in the 24nd year, the annual Share your Holiday event has become a tradition for many Central Coast residents. Giving food, new and unwrapped toys, clothing, blankets, bottled water and donating money are all ways to contribute to the cause of helping local families in need.
