Aquaponics Facility To Produce Organic Lettuce In Pilot Knob, MO

Last week, a truck backed into what used to be a pallet-making facility in Pilot Knob.  However, instead of oak boards, the truck was loaded with tanks of live fish.

A company called Eden Greens is setting up in the 17,000 square feet building and is installing a 17,000 square feet greenhouse right beside it. The company also plans to move its current 9,000 square feet facility in Farmington to this site as well.

“We felt Iron County is a better place to do business,” said Darin Montgomery, a company spokesman and the brother of the owner, Rafe Montgomery (who was not available for this interview). “We looked around for spots.  This facility was available and was perfect.  It already had compressed air lines throughout the building and a lot of the infrastructure we needed.”
