Veneman, former Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture, has joined its Board of Directors. This is a significant addition for the technology startup that was also recently named a 2019 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.

Veneman, a lawyer by training, served as the Executive Director of UNICEF from 2005 to 2010 and as the US Secretary of Agriculture from 2001 to 2005. She has won several awards and recognitions for her leadership and talent, including being named to the prestigious Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list in 2009. She is the only woman to ever hold the position as Secretary of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). She is also the first woman to serve as Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (1995-1999), where she was responsible for the largest agricultural producing state in the country.
In addition to Full Harvest, Veneman is also on the board of Nestle S.A., the Global Health Innovative Technology Fund (GHIT), and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). She is also a member of the Hilton Foundation Humanitarian Prize Jury and the Council on Foreign Relations. She is a frequent speaker on the food system, agriculture, nutrition, empowerment of girls & women, global health, and reducing poverty around the world.
