Wayne Farms has opened a $4.5 million Customer Innovation Center in Decatur equipped to develop and test new products for major restaurants and food brands.
The company will be able to help its customers develop a prototype, test a product and take it to full production “all on-site” and without lag time, said Tom Bell, vice president/general manager with Wayne Farms Prepared Foods.
“It makes (the process) much more practical for our customers,” said Bell, who called Wayne Farms' Decatur site “one of the most advanced food manufacturing complexes.”
