ST-HYACINTHE, QC – The management of Olymel L.P. is satisfied with the decision by members of the Syndicat des travailleurs d'Olympia (CSN), who, in a general assembly today in Drummondville, endorsed the agreement in principle in the matter of the St-Simon plant in the eastern Montérégie region that was unanimously recommended to them by representatives of their union leadership. Olymel management wishes to point out that it had asserted its desire to arrive at a global settlement in this matter in a news release on August 10, 2015. The company is also pleased that approval of this agreement in principle will resolve all outstanding issues between the Syndicat des travailleurs d'Olympia (CSN) and Olymel, including all legal disputes involving employees. The company reiterates that in this matter, it has always shown good faith in seeking the remedies available to it in order to assert its rights.
In addition, Olymel management is also satisfied that a new collective agreement between the union and the company, expiring on June 30, 2024, has been concluded and approved. This new labour contract will be implemented in connection with a new vocation for the St-Simon facility as a warehousing and distribution centre. The facility's new operations will require a recall of some twenty employees in a procedure that should get under way in the fall, after completion of reconfiguration work in the plant.
Lastly, Olymel will not disclose the terms of this agreement and will not comment further on this matter.
