Seaboard-Triumph Pork Plant On Schedule To Open In 2017, Officials Say

SIOUX CITY | With site preparation well underway, work on a $264 million pork plant in Sioux City remains on schedule for completion in 2017, a top company official said Monday.

“Everything is on track,” said Terry Holton, president and CEO of Seaboard Foods. “Right now what we are planning on is getting a majority of the dirt work done and then getting the utilities to the site.”

The Seaboard-Triumph plant, announced in May, is a joint venture between Seaboard, a division of Merriam, Kansas-based Seaboard Corp., and St. Joseph, Missouri-based Triumph Foods.
