Pork Checkoff Celebrates Hispanic Traditions With Celebrity Chef Lorena Garcia

DES MOINES, IOWA – The flavor and versatility of pork makes it a favorite staple among Hispanic homes. To celebrate the love Latinos have for pork, the Pork Checkoff has launched a Hispanic marketing campaign that includes a partnership with celebrity chef Lorena Garcia.

Garcia, one of the country's most popular Latina chefs, has a passion for creating juicy and delicious recipes in the kitchen. She also enjoys creating pork-inspired recipes with a unique Latin touch.

"I am thrilled to share my culture and love of pork through these new recipes that families may enjoy in everyday meals," said Garcia, who is well known for numerous TV series such as Top Chef Masters. "I believe in keeping it simple but interesting."

Through this new collaboration, the Pork Checkoff is launchingSabrosos Momentos Con Chef Lorena Garcia(Flavor-Filled Moments with Chef Lorena Garcia). The first of the two-part multi-media series will feature three delicious pork-inspired video recipes and educational videos that showcase three popular pork cuts: tenderloin, ribs and shoulder. The recipes will be Pulled Pork Scramble, Pork Tenderloin SautéedandPork-Back Ribs with Mango and Chile de Arbol.

"The main inspiration for my cooking is to bring loved ones together to enjoy wonderful food," Garcia said. "It is something that has always fulfilled me."

The Pork Checkoff also has launched PorkTeInspira.com, a new Spanish-language website with corresponding social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  PorkTeInspira.com, a resource of information and culinary experiences with pork, will engage consumers with recipes, nutritional content, choice pork cuts, health and pork safety content and cooking tips.
