Nebraska beef will be promoted at some special events in New York City this spring.
Stops will include three restaurants and a butcher shop.
“We don’t only have to set our sights overseas for market development work,” said Gov. Pete Ricketts, who announced the trip on Thursday at the annual Governor’s Ag Conference in Kearney. “We should be ready to capitalize on any appropriate opportunity to expand sales of our agricultural goods."
Promotions are planned at four sites on April 9-10: Burger & Lobster, which boasts its burgers are made from three cuts of Nebraska steak; Bull and Bear Prime Steakhouse, a financial industry favorite in the Waldorf Astoria, a restaurant frequented early in its history by Nebraska’s Buffalo Bill Cody; Empire Steak House, known for its USDA dry-aged porterhouse; and Ottomanelli Butcher Shop, a family-owned and operated business that carves out a corner of its shop specifically to promote beef from Nebraska.
