Officials in North Carolina cut the ribbon on this week on the $170 million Mountaire processing plant in Siler City.
The 40-acre complex will employ up to 1,250 people when all shifts are hired, and contribute millions of dollars to the economy of the region.
The site formerly housed a Townsend. processing plant.
This is Mountaire’s fourth processing plant and its second in North Carolina. Mountaire has 10,000 employees and headquarters operations in Delaware.
