NEW OXFORD, PA – Madness gripped Plainville Farms' Facebook page in March, but rather than basketballs, these folks were tossing turkey in their kitchens. The event was a Meatloaf Madness photo contest.
When it came to the Final Fourteen, challengers included a Football, Cupcake and Starfish, as well as the winning entry, Elyse Orecchio's The Audacity of Making the President Out of a Meatloaf," which featured a portrait of President Obama, sporting a mashed potatoes collar and catsup tie.
"Our goal for this promotion was to have fun with our Facebook fans, and to remind them that ground turkey can be the foundation for lots of creative meals," said Barb Quijano, Vice President of Hain Pure Protein, parent company of Plainville Farms, adding, "it is clear that our fans have an abundance of fun creativity in their kitchens."
The grand winner was selected through a Facebook voting process and Ms. Orecchio received a $100 gift card. Three other winners were selected through random drawing and each received a Plainville Farms meat thermometer.
