PEORIA — Expect to see higher prices for beef, pork and chicken in coming months as the economy takes another stab at the family dinner table.
Just in time for the start of grilling season, the already rising prices of meat are expected to jump even higher because of a shortage of market-ready livestock, local meat suppliers said.
"It started about three weeks ago," Bob Barth, owner of Barth's Pottstown Meat & Deli in Peoria's Metro Centre, said Monday.
