Johnsonville Sausage Purchases Building In Watertown, WI Business Park

Johnsonville Sausage, LLC has purchased a 63,000 square-foot building at 1222 Perry Way in Watertown, Wis., formerly occupied by Multi-Color Corporation. The sausage company had previously conducted operations in Watertown at a facility located on Division Street, which suffered a devastating fire in May 2015.

“We have been proud to operate in Watertown for nearly 35 years and are pleased for our business – and for our 120 local members here – that we can remain part of the community,” says Ralph Stayer, founder and chairman, Johnsonville Sausage. “We also look forward to creating at least 30 new jobs and welcoming even more Watertown residents to the Johnsonville family.”

Since the fire occurred at the building on Division Street, Johnsonville has engaged their Watertown members through training programs and community volunteering at local organizations, such as the Octagon House and the Rock River Rescue Foundation, and paid them a full wage.

The new facility, which will support Johnsonville’s fresh sausage operations, will create 30 jobs in the next year, with the potential of adding 70 more to support company growth.

Johnsonville will make several enhancements to the building on Perry Way and expects to begin operations there in spring 2016.
