CFIA Continues Probe On Contaminated Beef Processed In Edmonton

The beef with contaminated meats has expanded.

Meanwhile, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency does not know how beef products processed in Edmonton may have been contaminated with E. coli.

The voluntary recall of beef products processed by XL Foods expanded Monday to include Loblaws Inc. stores including Extra Foods, No Frills, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, Shop Easy, SuperValu, Real Canadian Superstore, Westfair, Your Independent Grocer.

Garfield Balson, CFIA recall co-ordinator, said the investigation into the source and products that are affected are ongoing.
