WINNIPEG – Beef producers in Canada are getting some assistance from the federal government, according to a release from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
The Canadian government said it would invest C$3 million to help support the beef industry by developing new marketing opportunities that will help farmers boost their bottom line, the release said.
The investment means even more help for producers in British Columbia, after the BC provincial government's recent investment of C$2 million that will fund projects recommended by BC's Ranching Task Force, the release said.
Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Member of Parliament Cathy McLeod said this money will help Canadian beef producers increase production and sales, which will ensure farmers can remain profitable and competitive in the future.
