GARNER, N.C. – Butterball, LLC, the nation's largestturkey producer, has donated 61,000 pounds of turkey to victims of theJanuary earthquake in Haiti. In conjunction with Stop Hunger Now, aninternational hunger relief agency that delivers meal packets throughoutthe world, Butterball's donation is one of the largest donations made toHaiti's disaster relief effort to date.
Butterball's donation will be loaded for shipping to Haiti on Wednesday,April 14 and Friday, April 16 from Preferred Freezer Services, arefrigerated warehouse in La Port, Texas where the Butterball turkey hasbeen stored. Gleaning for the World, a transporter of disaster reliefsupplies, will transport Butterball's donation to Food for the Poor, thenumber one international relief and development charity in the UnitedStates, who will then distribute the food to families in Haiti.
