GALESBURG — Thrushwood Farms Quality Meats Inc., a Galesburg family business entering its 33rd year, is exploring options to expand its operations and revamping its website.
Later this month, the Hankes family will begin crafting a long-range plan that may involve working with more retail stores and offering more private labeling service for its meat products.
Thrushwood Farms also includes a retail store and offers custom butchery for local farmers and wholesale meats for restaurants and fundraising groups.
“Last year sales were up by 16 to 17 percent,” said Jim Hankes, who owns the business, 2860 W. Main St., with his wife Kae.
The federally inspected plant sells its meat products to retail stores and offers private labeling.
