Summer may be months away, but people in the Montgomery area are already firing up their grills and taking advantage of longer, warmer days.

This year, why not move be­yond burgers with ketchup, mus­tard and other traditional (and bor­ing!) toppings?

Ed Whatley of the Alabama Cat­tlemen's Association is big on bur­gers with all sorts of toppings, par­ticularly if it's cheese, just about any kind of cheese. One of his fa­vorite burgers is topped with soy-blue cheese crumbles.
