Will Poultry Co. has filed advance word of a shutdown with the New York State Labor Department.
The Will plant on William Street in Buffalo will close on Dec. 28, according to the company's Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing. It says that a total of 113 workers will lose their jobs.
The reason for the closure is listed as sale of the business. No further details were given.
Will Poultry, which was founded in 1926, is a meat, seafood and institutional food distributor. It serves 21 Upstate New York counties, as well as parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
