Bell & Evans' $260M Expansion Will Create More Than 1,000 Jobs

A $260 million expansion of a Lebanon County business is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs.

Bell & Evans, a poultry processing and wholesale company in Bethel Township, broke ground on the new 560,000-square-foot poultry harvesting facility near the end of last year. The plant will be situated on 90 acres that the company purchased in 2014. The plant will house four processing lines, each with a capacity of 600,000 birds a week.

The new capacity is needed to meet increased demand for the company's whole and value-added chicken products, which will be processed at a nearby plant, according to a joint press release from the governor's office and Bell & Evans.
