Sheep pigs are real. And their cured meat goes for a porky $82.99 a pound in Brooklyn.
"It's darn tasty, I can tell you that," said Laura Heifetz of the Greene Grape's Provisions store in Fort Greene, which sells the rich, maroon-colored specialty ham.
A sign taped to Heifetz's glass counter shows a photo of the adorable animal and asks, "Is it a sheep? Is it a poodle?"
The funny-looking creatures are actually an ancient, rare breed of hog with a woolly coat.
