Flowers are increasingly being bought by women as a treat for themselves, a new survey shows.
According to the shopsmartmag.org, 20 per cent of respondents to their shopping survey said they had purchased fresh flowers for themselves in the past 30 days.
This is an increase of seven per cent from January's findings.
The website notes that while women are still saving during the current economic climate, they are becoming more open to treating themselves to smaller items, such as flowers and make-up.
More expensive items, such as jewellery, are being bought less.
