Fall officially starts Wednesday morning and temperatures we’ve been seeing have been well above average.
This past weekend there was a turn toward more seasonable conditions, making a lot of people think Fall.
“Everyone was just instantly like ready,” explains Melissa Higgins, retail manager at Sprague’s Nursery in Bangor. “They wanted their corn stalks out. They wanted their pumpkins up so it was crazy here yesterday, I expect a good busy weekend.”
The top seller this fall at Sprague’s? The mums. They are actually on the second batch, though. The first batch, after a longer than average string of 80-degree days blossomed early.
