West Grove, PA — Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle, the introducer of The Knock Out® Family of Roses, brings new roses to gardeners across the country. This year’s garden- and gardener-friendly introductions are all excellent additions to an already stellar lineup of roses.
“We are excited to bring this large group of roses to gardeners of all kinds — experts, beginners, landscapers and plant aficionados like myself,” says Steve Hutton, president and CEO, Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle. “The list includes additions to the fun-loving Look-A-Likes® series, a new Drift® rose, West Coast–only roses and beautifully tall Hybrid Tea roses.”
These new introductions are available at garden retailers throughout the country. Gardeners can go to our website to see pictures and more information.
Look-A-Likes® Hydrangealicious and Look-A-Likes® Phloxy Baby are part of a unique series of roses that don’t look like roses! With flowers that look like your favorite perennials and shrubs, they really fool the eye and are a great addition and conversation piece for any garden.
Popcorn Drift® is the newest addition to the Drift® groundcover rose series. Drift® Roses have many of the same great characteristics as The Knock Out® Family of Roses, but are smaller and more tidy in habit. Like the other Drift® Roses — Apricot, Coral, Peach, Pink, Red and Sweet — Popcorn Drift® has excellent disease resistance but with flowers that resemble tasty buttered popcorn.
The Eyeconic® series of Hulthemia roses is an exciting addition, especially for West Coast gardeners. This year, Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle is introducing two new varieties — Eyeconic® Pomegranate Lemonade and Eyeconic® Melon Lemonade. West Coast gardeners may also enjoy Cinnamon Dolce™ for its novel color and strong fragrance.
Hybrid Tea roses new to garden centers this year are Big Momma™— pink and very fragrant — Dark Night™, a deep velvet red rose with a cream yellow reverse suffused with red. Both of these roses are great for cutting!
Finally, there is a group of fun roses for any garden. Raspberry Cream Twirl™ is the first striped climber to have a true modern rose exhibition-type flower. It has a wonderful green apple scent. Cloud 10™ is a climber that blooms heavily in the spring, but will rebloom throughout the season. It has clean foliage and flowers similar to English roses. Tequila Gold™ offers a symphony of bright yellow colors almost nonstop throughout the season. It has very good resistance to black spot.
In addition to these new roses, Star® Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle introduces a new website and hosts several social media platforms to inspire gardeners and offer a place to share garden stories, photos and tips.
