The New York Times weddings column is usually a good barometer of all that is hip in matrimonial matters.
Take a recent column chronicling the April nuptials of Kestrin Pantera, a Los Angeles cellist and actress, and Jonathan Grubb, a product manager.
The pair were wed on a windy bluff in Carmel, California, and held an intimate reception in a nursery owned by the groom's sister known for its cutting-edge arrangements. Their guests were surrounded by thousands of silvery-green tillandsia, a plant that lives on air. The bride, who hates to "kill" flowers, carried a bouquet of the same spiny bromeliad.
