Plantipp Ready For Plantarium

THE NETHERLANDS — Preparing for Plantarium with 30 new introductions and an approaching deadline for launching their new website, Plantipp went in overdrive last few months. With less than a week it is just a matter of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s and team Plantipp will be more than ready to showcase an exciting range of novelties at Plantarium.

“It feels like we are preparing for the Olympics”, says Reinier van Rijssen, owner of Plantipp. “Launching a new website means all hands on deck for our small team, but we did it! It is online as of this week. Now we can fully focus on finalizing our preparations for Plantarium, which is a very important platform for us”.

At last year's edition of Plantarium, 11 medals were awarded to varieties managed by Plantipp. This year 30 varieties from Plantipp's portfolio are competing to win the coveted title 'Best Novelty'.

Reinier van Rijssen: “Competing or not, we are proud to represent all thirty promising new varieties, each one with its own qualities, story and performance. Take x Sedoro BLUE ELF for example. A breakthrough in breeding as it is the first-ever inter-generic hybrid between Sedum and Orostachys. Lagerstroemia EVELINE’s flowering is unique in many ways, and even more special is the fact that 10% of the proceeds will be donated to KiKa, a Dutch charity foundation that brings in fundings solely for research to childhood cancers”.

Reinier’s daughter Kim van Rijssen, representative of Plantipp, adds; “Don’t ask me to choose a favourite variety, I honestly can’t pick one. There is the stunning Clematis AMBER, which won this year’s RHS Plant of the Year Award, the Hibiscus MAGENTA CHIFFON, which won an award at the 2016 HTA Plant Show. Visitors just have to see and judge for themselves at Plantarium”.

From 24-27 August team Plantipp is present at Plantarium in Boskoop, the Netherlands, at stand number 8.
