Columbus, Ohio – OFA – The Association of Horticulture Professionals is excited to announce the expansion of its educational programs to the East and West coasts.
Propagators, production specialists, and growers will converge in San Jose, California for the internationally-recognized OFA Plug & Cutting Conference, September 12-14, 2011. Attendees will get from more than 30 plug and cutting production experts the important facts needed to make critical business decisions. Although geared toward growers of all levels, the conference is especially valuable for intermediate to advanced plug and cutting growers due to in-depth sessions, interactive workshops, and hands-on tour. For growers new to the plug and cutting side of the industry or those looking for a refresher, attending the conference will take the mystery and guesswork out of producing and selling quality products at a profit.
Debuting on the East coast is the OFA Grow & Sell for Profit Conference, November 8-9, 2011 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Unlike any other industry event, the OFA Grow & Sell for Profit Conference will focus on delivering the business solutions growers and retailers need to boost their bottom line. OFA is partnering with the North Carolina Commercial Flower Growers Association, the South Carolina Greenhouse Growers Association, and the Virginia Flower Growers Association.
To better meet the needs of attendees, OFA has developed this two-day event to facilitate networking and connecting of attendees and exhibitors on and off the trade show floor. The conference will focus on delivering take-home business solutions that increase the bottom line for growers and retailers. The location, Raleigh, North Carolina, is convenient and affordable, offering free parking, as well as free breakfast and evening reception for attendees staying at the hotel. Taking it one affordable step further, the $149 registration fee ($99 for OFA members) includes lunch on the trade show floor and allows additional staff to register at $49.
Although known for the OFA Short Course, the association has coordinated and collaborated on educational events throughout the United States. OFA is resource for information, a trusted source for professional development, and a key facilitator for industry buyers and sellers. “OFA is known worldwide for the Short Course trade show and conference, so we’re capitalizing on our expertise by providing resources via smaller, specifically-focused educational events throughout the U.S. to become an educational destination for industry professionals,” said OFA President and California nursery owner Danny Takao.
