Let's get the disclaimer out of the way first. If you are reading this article as spring of 2015 approaches, the new varieties highlighted here are likely to be a little harder to find since it is their first year on the market.
We have always had a lot of great plants for sunny spots, but often finding great new plants for shade is much tougher. Which is why I am really excited we are adding 10 plants that are great for shade this year. This Pinterest board also features these new plants for shade.
Pegasus™ Begonia
This begonia is grown for showy foliage rather than flowers. Who needs flowers when you have deep green, almost black foliage overlain with silvery-white highlights? It looks great in containers by itself or when used in combinations with other shade plants. You do need to make sure that the plant remains moist at all times, since it will not handle getting too dry. Here are some combinations to consider for your garden:
