Vista, California, Spring 2011 – With showy blooms, warm colors and compact size – new Cinnamon Bear Rudbeckia is just right for your garden.
Cinnamon Bear Rudbeckia is an easy care high impact plant. It is a type of black eyed susan which is a long time garden favorite worldwide. Being a dwarf plant, it will stay compact with a maximum size of 8 to 10 inches both tall and wide. Compact in size it will also be loaded with blooms. It will be covered with large 4 to 6 inch bicolor deep red and yellow blooms all summer and into fall. Cinnamon Bear Rudbeckia thrives in hot and dry climates and is drought tolerant once established, making this plant a great component for rock gardens.
Full sun to part sun and well drained soil are ideal conditions for this annual rudbeckia. Cinnamon Bear is perfect for wildflower beds, cutting gardens, containers, combination planters, and it attracts butterflies.
VIVA! program coordinator Lisa Heredia comments, “I love how this plant has a short stature yet has mega flower power. The blooms are huge, with bicolor deep red and yellow petals, and they practically cover the foliage all summer long and into fall. Add in the easy care and drought tolerance – any gardener is sure to be pleased with the performance of Cinnamon Bear.”
Bred by American Takii, VIVA! Cinnamon Bear Rudbeckia can be found regionally at The Home Depot stores this spring.
