The Michigan Floral Association's Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Wayne Castleberry, MAC Technologies, Richmond, Virginia, during the Great Lakes Floral Expo. The 2016 event was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Castleberry has created numerous post harvest products used by florists worldwide including the Transporter 10 van delivery system and Arrive Alive packaging for hydrating bouquets.
An innovator, inventor, and marketer, he is always looking to share his vision with others and make things better through technology and positive performance. He is also the author of the Fresh Start series of books.
Currently working for Chrysal as manager of new product and business development, he continues to be a well respected industry leader.
Each year the MFA Awards and Nominations Committee is responsible for soliciting and reviewing award nominations. The committee sends all qualified nominations to a panel of independent judges who complete an evaluation form for each nominee. The committee totals the points received for each candidate nominated in a specific category and averages. The candidate receiving the highest average score in each category is chosen to receive the award
