Only nature could create these orchid petals–man-made silk flowers can't come close to this level of beauty, orchid grower and Southlake resident Peter Lin said.
Lin's biggest thrill is to breed one-of-a-kind hybrids.
"I feel like I'm creating something new," he said. "I'm looking for something that's a novelty, something I haven't seen before."
Lin, 39, owns Big Leaf Orchids. He sells orchids at prices that range from $20 to $250 to customers nationwide. Buyers range from casual fans who want something pretty in their homes to orchid fans who crave the one-of-a-kind hybrids.
