NAIVASHA (Xinhua) — Kenya’s flower farmers are slowly shifting their products from the traditional Dutch market to Japan, which has been identified as a key market for carnations.
The Japanese market, according to the farmers, is warming up to carnations, a shift from the traditional rose growing which has been the mainstay of many flower farmers.
Dorcas Ngure, head of Communications at Oserian Flower Company, one of the largest flower farms in Kenya, said the Japanese market was warming up to the purchase of carnations moving from the traditional roses.
