Supporting the efforts of the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation (MDFF) and WF&FSA (the Wholesale Florist & Floral Supplier Association), Kennicott Brothers Company is donating thousands of Freedom Roses through their retail customers this Memorial Day.
Joining many other floral wholesalers in the nationwide effort, Kennicott Brothers invited nearly 40 Midwestern florists to honor our nation’s soldiers through flowers. “We asked our retail florist customers if they would be interested in supporting this initiative,” said Joe Barnes (Manager of New Business Development for Kennicott Brothers). “Our friends at MDFF created wonderful promotional materials, which we then handed to participating florists along with several boxes of Freedom Roses each,” Barnes continued. “Some will hand out stems during their local Memorial Day parade, while others will be offering flowers to those visiting the graves of beloved, fallen service members at area cemeteries.”
Kennicott Brothers Company and its grower partners committed to donating approximately 10,000 roses to support Memorial Day Flowers this year. The exercise is part of their larger, ongoing “Make A Difference” campaign, through which Kennicott strives to improve the communities in which they do business.
This year, the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation (MDFF), with help from their network of importers (Miami), growers (Columbia, Ecuador & California), and volunteers, will be placing 120,000 roses on the headstones at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
