Iron Mountain Nursery & Farm has joined Buy Nevada as a SILVER member in the grower section. It is the first nursery operation funded by the Farm Service Agency in Nevada. It is the only house plant nursery actually growing houseplants on site in Nevada. Products are grown in green houses and a NRCS funded hoop house. Finally, the entire operation’s energy is provided by a USDA funded 7KW solar system.
Nevada Products
The nursery grows a wide selection of house plants with distribution designed to service Western Nevada drug stores, grocery stores, florists and retail nurseries. Some unique products being tested to grow in the Northern Nevada climate are: Kiefer limes, Jabotacaba trees, Moringa Trees, Sea Berry’s, Vanilla Orchids and varieties of vegetables from around the world. IMN&F carries over 30 varieties of barefoot and canned shade trees that have been tested in the Western Nevada climate. We also carry the E-Z pick line of fruit tress. The fruit orchard is being planted this spring with fruit for sale with -in the next two years. Field crops being planted this spring include beets, squash, potatoes, onions, asparagus, lemon grass, shallots, bell / hot peppers, tomato’s, garlic and a wide variety of herbs.
