Grand Haven, MI – The Direct Gardening Association (formerly called the Mailorder Gardening Association) has given the Proven Winners® INVINCIBELLE WEE WHITE® hydrangea a 2018 Green Thumb Award for best new plant in the plants, bulbs and seeds division.
The INVINCIBELLE WEE WHITE® hydrangea is a smooth hydrangea (H. arborescens ‘NCHA5’) from Proven Winners® and is propagated exclusively by Grand Haven’s Spring Meadow Nursery. The INVINCIBELLE WEE WHITE® hydrangea is a dwarf variety that produces abundant flower heads on strong, supportive stems that flush soft pink, aging to white, then green. This flowering shrub grows almost everywhere in North America and flowers from early summer through frost.
This win follows the 2017 Green Thumb Awards for Spring Meadow Nursery's Proven Winners®ColorChoice® PURPLE PILLAR® rose of Sharon and the INVINCIBELLE® Ruby hydrangea, the first ever red flowered Hydrangea arborescens.
Winners of the 2018 Green Thumb Awards were chosen by an independent panel of garden writers and editors.
