Simpson Brothers Greenhouse is one of Michigan's largest wholesale growers and distributors of hundreds of varieties of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and plants. The newly acquired Insight Management subsidiary operates with a focus on sustainability in its production methods, business operations and product selection.
Insight Management Corp. completed the acquisition of Plant Acadia Growing, Inc., parent company of Simpson Brothers Greenhouse, on December 9, 2010. Simpson Brothers Greenhouse is a well known, highly regarded retail greenhouse, garden center and wholesale farm supplier with ongoing revenue and a substantial customer base. The Simpson family has a three-generation legacy of growing its own plants naturally with the highest quality and freshness. Simpson Brothers Greenhouse is an ecologically sustainable company which does not procure or sell cut flowers.
Insight Management's wholly owned Simpson Brothers Greenhouse grows 90% of its own product and sells to garden centers, greenhouses, farms and walk-in customers. The subsidiary has approximately 70,000 square feet of indoor growing space and 10,000 square feet of outside production. The subsidiary is currently producing and selling a wide variety of plants including geraniums, poinsettias, lilies, foliage, ferns, perennials, trees and shrubs as well as soils, bulk seed, seed potatoes and garden and greenhouse supplies. The subsidiary's average monthly sales exceeded $65,000 in 2010.
