Holland America Flower Gardens recently announced that for 2018 there will be no Tulip Festival, with the garden instead focusing on what they are most known for — rows and rows of tulips.
The 2018 season for Holland America officially started March 23 and will run until May 13, during which the show and u-pick fields will be open every day as well as the gift shop on certain days, a release from the business stated.
As to why the shift away from the annual Tulip Festival, Holland America Flower Gardens co-owner Benno Dobbe said that unpredictable weather had made how successful the two-weekend event would be. This put a strain on vendors, particularly food vendors, who could be hit hard if a weekend got rained out.
