The Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show celebrates its 100th birthday this year and is marking the occasion with a competition to determine the show’s Plant of the Centenary. This will be decided by a public vote. Ten plants have been nominated by RHS experts for the public to choose between, one to represent each decade of the Chelsea Flower Show.
Geranium ‘Rozanne’, the PPA Plant of the Year for 2008, has been selected to represent the decade 1993-2002, having been launched at Chelsea in 2000 when Adrian Bloom incorporated it in his garden design, spilling out of a Norfolk flint well.
This high profile publicity presents magnificent opportunities for North American growers and retailers alike to ride the wave of public interest by promoting plants which are in the running to win.

Geranium ‘Rozanne’ is a magnificent plant that every gardener can succeed with, no matter how green-fingered, or not, they happen to be. She’s easy to grow in a wide range of soils and conditions and requires very little maintenance. Unlike other Hardy Geraniums, ‘Rozanne’ flowers from May right through to first hard autumn frosts – few other perennials bloom for such an extended amount of time. All of these attributes lead to ‘Rozanne’ being named Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association in the U.S.
