Galentine's Day Explained

Admit it, you’ve been afraid to ask what Galentine’s Day is, but the term has been creeping into your news-feed …and your sub-conscious.

Fear Not! Here it is in a nutshell.

Galentine’s Day originated on the NBC TV show “Parks and Recreation” staring Amy Poehler. During an episode circa 2010, Amy’s character, Leslie Knope proclaims February 13th “Galentine’s Day.”

It is not a bash on Valentine’s Day, but rather a celebration of female friendship. The celebration takes place the day before Valentine’s Day, in theory over brunch…and with flowers and waffles!
