In recent months, the Board of Directors has focused on the future of Plantarium. Plantarium is regarded as a permanent fixture on the trade fair calendar, but what does ‘permanent’ mean in this day and age? In order to make the fair “Future Proof”, discussions were held with a group of stakeholders and (former) participants. The action points which were mentioned (over 60 of them) were summarised and various recommendations were then made. The Board of Directors examined the results and followed up on the recommendations.
Plantarium matters
The very high level of commitment on the part of a large group of participants is striking. The discussions regarding sales and the choice of resources revealed the fact that Plantarium matters and that people appreciate the fair for its 'quality above quantity' approach. In this context, we were asked to carry on (mainly) marketing Plantarium as a source of inspiration.
More trade visitors
In order to generate even more trade visitors, the recommendation was to develop a customised invitation policy. An evening programme may help to make trade visitors spend more time at the fair. This will also be possible during the day by means of presentations, pitches, etc. at the fair. Good communication is required in this respect. In addition, collaboration with parties such as Groen-Direkt and TPK Media Partners is considered very important.
