Floral For Home Decoration Slumps, Consumer Trends Signal Re-Bound

Prince & Prince has recently released a new Market Report on U.S. consumer floral purchasing for home decor, "Consumer Floral Usage for “Home Decoration” Slumps in Recession, But Consumer Demographic Trends Signal a Re-Bound".

This report is excerpted from the updated P&P Seminar, "The P&P U.S. Consumer Floral Tracking Survey".

One aspect of this comprehensive floral research reveals consumer purchasing trends for 24 holidays, events, and occasions.  Collectively, these consumer floral usage profiles, and P&P's previous report release on Valentine's Day purchasing, show that consumer purchasing for specific holidays and occasions is largely driven by different demographic trends, and thus, targeting the "general floral consumer" is sub-optimal, likely resulting in sub-par sales.   The consumer demographic trends identify opportunities for the floral industry, allowing floral retailers and mass marketers to sharpen their marketing, advertising appeals, and promotional messaging to consumers for specific holidays and occasions.   Overall, the consumer floral tracking trends can assist the entire floral channel in helping to re-build the U.S. floral market, holiday by holiday, occasion by occasion, and through no occasion at all (self-usage of floral product).
