Cercis canadensis 'The Rising Sun', submitted by Joh Stolwijk & Zn. from Boskoop, has won the Plantarium Press Award in the category Garden, Balcony and Patio plants. In the category Concepts, this prize went to FleuraTerrazza concept, submitted by Van der Starre from Boskoop.
The jury was unanimous about the FleuraTerrazza concept: "It is a new, innovative concept for climbers. Simple and easy to use for the consumer." Cercis canadensis 'The Rising Sun' was also a convincing winner. 'The Rising Sun' is an innovative Cercis cultivar. The decorative leaves can withstand sunshine and turn a beautiful colour in autumn. A beautiful, vertical accent in the garden", according to the jury.
The Plantarium Press Award was presented by the chairwoman of the jury, Mrs Patricia Grolier, who works for Lien Horticole from France.
