Dutch Lily Days Formula Still Going Strong After Three Years

Dutch Lily Days Formula still going strong after three years

It is not an exaggeration to state that the Dutch Lily Days no longer need an introduction. A remarkable conclusion for an event that will only be held for the third time in 2013. But in the international lily sector, after the first two successful fairs, anticipation is already building for the next event. Get your diaries ready: next year the international ‘lily four-day fair’ will be held from 21 through 24 May 2013.

For four days the Netherlands is the epicenter of the global cultivation and trade in lilies, reflecting its status as market leader for the past 40 years. It started when 15 breeders and traders decided to join forces in 2011, to stress the importance of the lily cultivation sector in the Netherlands even more, and the Dutch Lily Days were born. Shortly after Keukenhof, which is held a bit too early for an optimal presentation of varieties, companies open their doors. Already in the first year, the Dutch Lily Days welcomed visitors from around the world. The formula of visiting many companies over several days proved eminently successful. Last year the number of participants grew to 16. This year the Dutch Lily Days will start with the same number of companies participating.
