Members of IFDA (Independent Floral Designers Association) got the chance to experiment and play with Deliflor Chrysanten's new breeds of Spray, Disbudded and Santini chrysanthemums. They experienced the special characteristics of each different flower and got to mix and match them in designs.
The IFDA program began with Dottie Harrigan recapping a presentation offered by Deliflor's Juan David Lecuona this past June at IFE. David's program moved many in the audience to hold a higher regard for the flowers often thought of – in the industry and by consumers – as "ordinary". In the IFDA program members learned about the intrinsic value of chrysanthemums to consumers.
Then industry expert Carol Caggiano AIFD, PFCI offered design ideas and principles specific to chrysanthemums. She also shared tips and tricks that her floral professional students could use before setting them free to select the flowers for their designs.
