SEWELL, USA/NAALDWIJK, THE NETHERLANDS: As of January 1st Delaware Valley
Wholesale Florist, a leading US floral distributor, and Mondial Flower
International MFI (comprising Agora and Fleura-Metz) have developed a strategic
alliance and agreed to work together in the areas which include worldwide
sourcing of fresh cut flowers and greens.
The unique approach will allow the companies to combine expert knowledge and to
strengthen purchase power. DVWF, Agora and Fleura-Metz share the same vision on
the world flower industry and, in some ways, similar corporate cultures. This
month the joined companies will kick off a project involving combined sourcing
of ornamentals from different production areas around the world. Richard Koenen,
managing director of MFI is thrilled to bits about the new cooperation and will
lead the project.
MFI was established in 2007 by Fleura and Metz. The main goal of the company is
to combine knowledge and purchasing power, thereby optimizing its partners
respective sourcing. MFI has subsidiaries in Europe, Africa, South America and
North America. MFI purchases on behalf of more than 50,000 florists in the
middle and high-end segment in Europe and North America.
