The Holland Pavilion has paid homage to the former football star Clarence Seedorf with a rose. Not just a flower however, but the orange variety Clarence Seedorf+. The variety is created by breeding company Dümmen Orange. The rose, named after former midfielder of Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and the Dutch national football team, took seven years of development. This way the Holland Pavilion wants to acknowledge the soccer icon for his achievements on the field and off the field. “I am honored to be here. I am proud to be an ambassador for Holland in Expo Milano 2015. It is fantastic that my country has given my name to this variety of roses,” said Seedorf.
The talented Dutchman was also honored with a dance performance and received a bouquet of Clarence Seedorf+ roses with a ball in the middle.
