"This week is like fashion week for the flower world because of its incorporation into our lifestyle," Syngenta Flowers marketing manager and horticulturist Jeannine Bogard said with a smile as she showed visitors around the greenhouse in Gilroy. "We show you the latest trends going on in the home along with our new varieties. It's a living catalogue," she said.
The California Spring Trials, April 10-17, is a big deal for the flower-growing industry as professionals from around the world make their way across the state checking out the latest in commercial varieties, retail programs and display ideas. Earlier in the week there were nursery owners and breeders visiting from Japan, Australia, England and Holland.
