We are delighted to announce that British Flowers Week 2016 will run from Monday 13 June to Sunday 19 June.
British Flowers Week is the annual nationwide celebration of British cut flower growers and the skilled independent florists they supply. The campaign unites the British cut flower industry behind the call for consumers to buy – and value – locally-grown, seasonal British flowers and foliages. It also brings retail and event florists, flower schools, growers and wholesalers together to showcase the best of British flowers, foliages and floristry.
British cut flowers are back in fashion, fuelled by the rise of artisan flower growers, such as the Flowers from the Farm network, and the trend for vintage, seasonality, fragrance and more naturalistic design. Nonetheless, British-grown flowers are still thought to represent less than 15% of the £2bn worth of flowers sold in the UK every year.
