A Waynesboro-based company that grows and distributes holiday amaryllis
plants and other indoor flowers will build a new facility in Stuarts Draft.
Bloomaker Inc. and Augusta County officials said Monday that a
40,000-square-foot production and greenhouse site could be ready by September.
We didnt look anywhere else for our facility, said Martijn Verlouw, product
developer and spokesman for Bloomaker.
The new site, located on 20 acres at the intersection of U.S. 340 and Kindig
Road, will double the space of Bloomakers current rented warehouse in
Waynesboro, Verlouw said. As many as 80 people could work there.
Formed in 2004, Bloomaker grows and distributes indoor tulip, hyacinth, and
daffodil flowers, pre-packaged bulbs and vase displays. Retailers including
Costco, Home Depot and supermarkets carry their plants nationwide.
